Beginner Crochet and Knitting Class Sunday 1/19
On Sunday January 19th, at the Weld Town Office Multipurpose room from 1-3 pm, the Weld Rec Committee will be holding a beginner crochet and knitting class.

Botanical Gardens Family Pass Fundraising Drive
The Weld Free Public Library would like to purchase a 2025 pass to the Botanical Gardens in Boothbay for the benefit of our patrons.
From May 1st to October 10, 2025, an individual, couple, or family can request a date to visit the Gardens for free. Just sign up at the library! Restrictions apply. Please help us support the drive for this valuable asset for our town! The amount we are trying to raise for this fabulous resource is only $150.
You can donate in person at the library Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-1 and 3-6 pm or online. Thank you!
Family Skate Night Friday January 24th
On Friday January 24th from 4:00 to 6:30 pm, the Weld Recreation Committee is hosting a family skate night at the ice rink at Mt. Blue State Park Headquarters. Free skate rentals, planet observation, and refreshments.

Penelope’s Peace Place
Penelope’s Peace Place by Lolisa Monroe is now at the Weld Public Library. A finalist for a Next Generation Indie Book Award, and another excellent children’s book available by her at the library. A delightful children’s book that describes the story of Penelope, an inquisitive Prairie Dog. Penelope embarks on a journey to find her “peace place” and learns a special lesson along the way.
Lolisa Monroe is an award-winning author who shares her love for children and animals in delightful and timeless books for children. Her tales entertain while fostering acceptance and inclusion in the most curious places. Her dream is to put little books in little hands. Her other children’s titles include Diego the Donkey and The Kitten That Could Not Meow.
Formerly a Weld resident and key person for promoting children’s activities at the library, she now lives in Melbourne, Florida with her husband, Scott. You can find her behind her camera lens, writing new children’s tales, or in the kitchen preparing meals for her husband and her upcoming cookbook.

Story Time with Miss. Bri
Every 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 11:00 am, The Weld Public Library will be hosting Story Time with Miss Bri.
Grand Finale Summer Kids Reading Program
On Thursday, August 8th at 10:00 am at the Mt. Blue State Park Nature Center, 187 Webb Beach Rd, Weld, ME 04285, The Weld Free Public Library will be holding the Grand Finale to the Wild Adventures Summer Reading Program!
Free admission to the park, dress for outdoor play and hiking. There will be a fun scavenger hunt in the park!
Author Talk and Book Signing
On August 22nd, at 4:00pm at the Weld Town Hall, meet and hear from many interesting local authors. Signed books will be available for purchase.
